SUPPORTING A BOB GRAHAM ROUND

I can't quite remember when Mark first voiced his intent to do the BG, but throughout the many runs and races we've done in the last few years it's never been far from the chat.

Which is as it should be. Something considered over months if not years, from innocent aspiration to the hard grind and raw effort of realisation.

It's been several years since my own round, and the memories begin to blur. Supporting Mark on leg three and four brought things back into sharp focus. From the pain of steep knee jarring descents to the interminable drag of the long climbs. The relief of grassy ridgelines that follow sharp boulder fields. The sense of being part of something greater.

A superb effort from Mark and a well-deserved completion.
