BURROW HEAD

Having paddled among the Islands of Fleet on numerous occasions, a trip along the coast to Burrow Head was perhaps inevitable.

It is a lovely stretch of coast with low cliffs, and numerous features worthy of exploration in a kayak.

Caves and narrow channels all offer good sport.

The landings however are tricky. I honestly can’t remember why I decided this was a good idea. At least the boat wasn’t loaded as it was on another occasion, landing on similar cliffs with the promise of a good campsite above.

We returned instead to the Isle of Whithorn, leaving The Scares and the Mull of Galloway for another day.
